Sydney Recreational Flying Club is dedicated to providing a safe and economical means for members to fly, within a friendly club atmosphere.
SRFC has been a Recreational Aviation Australia Inc. (RAAus) approved flight training school for over 20 years, and offers flight training at all levels, from complete beginner, to CFI rating. We have several volunteer instructors, who dedicate their time to pilot training with an emphasis on safety and good airmanship.
We also offer conversions from GA, gliders, and hang gliders. We can offer training for most Pilot Certificate endorsements, including Cross Country, Passenger, Low/High Performance and Nosewheel/Tailwheel.
The club owns and operates two Foxbat A22 (tricycle) and a Hughes Lightwing (tail dragger) aircraft. We have our own training and workshop facilities.
We operate from The Oaks airfield every weekend and some weekdays, hold monthly club meetings, and frequently run club events, fly-aways, and fly-drive rallies.
If you would like to take a trial lesson, or buy a trial lesson for someone else, please contact us. For a Trial Instruction Flight (TIF), no licence is required, student pilots must be 15 or over, and healthy enough to hold a drivers' licence. TIFs typically last half an hour, and contribute towards logged flying hours for your pilot certificate.
